what did you do as a kid to kick in zee ol' endorphins?

one of my favorites was "bloody knuckles". we used to swat eachother's knuckles with vent brushes. the object was to get your hand out of the way before the brush came down on it (ok, the object was really to get high, right?) anyhoot, if you moved your hand out of the way in time, no pain, if you barely moved it away, you got a nice bang and scrape from the brush. if you didn't move it at all, it was more of a sharp thud. yeow! i still have scars.

any others?

well, your subject title brings to mind one such "game." I'm pretty sure it was my big brother who said he was going to give me an "Indian Sunburn," taking my arm in both hands and twisting my skin in opposite directions 'til I was red and burning. Not too high on the pain scale, no scars, no tears.

Oh! But the tickle tortures we'd give my youngest brother looked painful. I don't actually know if that's an endorphine thing, but it was definitely TWISTED.

professional wrestling in the living room. I was Chief Jay Strongbow. My older brother was Mr. Fuji. The couch was the turn buckle. I only had to get stitches twice.

we played (get ready for a very very politically incorrect title that I do not endorse in the slightest) "Smear The Queer". This is a football game, only there are no teams, no goals, and no rules. You basically try to keep the football as long as you can to prove your bad assness. While the other players try to....well they try to kill you actually, and take the ball for themselves.

Ok, this one is really bad, but at the time...no it's just really bad.
There was this game where you and your friends would essentually strangle yourself or eachother till the person lost conciousness and then revive them in about ten seconds. Crazy head rush that one. Alright alright, I never claimed to be the good decision maker in the after school special.

Out Like A Light; that was the name of the strangling game, now I remember. Kids do not try this at home. We had to stop playing that game because we didn't know what we were doing (as preteens so often don't) and someone got hurt. Shocker!

we played smear the queer too, but we called it Muckle.

the most dangerous game we played though (and why we ALWAYS had fireworks, I have no idea) was to light a salute, hold it for as loooooooooong as possible and then throw it in the air before it blew up. That lasted until Stewart Browning almost blew his hand off...OOPS.

I like the name Muckle much better.
Hey I remember another one. We have lots and lots of trains in the town where I grew up. We would play chicken with the trains.
Jeezus, how did I survive this long without a helmet.

we used to jump from the roof of the garage onto a nearby tree branch. Come to think of it, Stewart Browning fell off the garage too! RUINING IT FOR EVERYBODY!

My friends and I did similar once, only we had plastic bags that we put over our head, and everyone stood on watch to make sure that you didn't pass out or die. Great rush, I must say.
I'd like to say that it was when I was a real little kid, but I think I may have already been about 15.

My best friend and kinda boyfriend other best friend and I would play vampire (in a loft), taking turns with who got to bite or be bitten, and would hand over hand out on the rafters to escape... till we got caught, or someone fell... Same boy loved playing the who can stand still for the most arm punches, and the smothering futon game. Of course he also liked to hold his breath till he passed out, which I didn't master untill high school.

Same female best friend and I liked to "wrestle" for who got to be on top.. which I did at some point get tired of winning... We were all for chasing each other around the woods with sticks, scoring hits willy-nilly and hyperventilating with balloons, (blow up the balloon, take back the spent air, repeat untill too dizzy to sit up...) Talking with a lover recently about trampling clients for money brought back this vivid memory of another friend's annoying little brother who would leave us alone for hours if we would take turns stepping on his chest and stomach. We would walk around his prone body, stepping on him as he giggled nonstop.

Oh, and my personal favorite for years was emptying out my toy chest, and taking turns sitting on the lid while the captive struggled to escape the tiny dark space.

My brothers (6 and 12 years older) used to make me spread my hand on the table and then quickly rotate sticking a knife in the space between each of my fingers, first going slowly and then picking up the pace till my heart was beating so fast I thought I would pass out.
Sounds familiar? I hope not fer yer sake...

actually I did play that game. There were these really cold winters and everything would freeze. And whenever my brothers or cousins would flick my ear to make it sting I would tweak their nipple. Lucky for me they couldn't do it back.
I remember doing Bloody Mary in elementary school, I saw her I swear.

I just remember playing bloody knuckles with a quarter.
Or physically fighting with friends and causing damage to someone's house/decorations. Heh, I remember my friend grabbed my legs and I grabbed onto this towel rack and he pulled me and ripped it off the wall.
Or this other time I was fighting in my friend's room and I took this cactus of his and threw it against the wall. Nobody ever got hurt really bad and it didn't last longer than like 30 mins or so.

Or some kids did what was called 'deep ten' where you would take ten deep breaths and then choke yourself making yourself pass out.
